  • Dr. Eric Potts-veterinarian-regina-dvm
    Dr. Eric Potts, B.S.A., DVM

    Dr. Potts grew up on a mixed farm near Watrous, SK. Growing up in a small town, he was not only busy playing hockey but he was also involved in the local Beef 4H Program where he raised and showed Simmentals. He has always enjoyed working with animals and had particular soft spots for their family’s St. Bernards and their Akita “Meika” growing up.  After obtaining his degree in Agriculture majoring in Animal Science & Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan, he pursued a career in Veterinary Medicine. One of Dr. Potts’ veterinary interests has been in the field of dentistry and during his final year of veterinary school he was fortunate to spend some time learning at a specialty dental practice in Los Angeles, CA. He also has a strong interest in ophthalmology and loves seeing eye cases! After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, he went into mixed practice in Medicine Hat, Alberta. At the end of 2011, he moved back to Saskatchewan to be closer to family and started working at Wascana Animal Hospital where he has remained ever since! He is an avid coffee drinker and can often be found with a Starbucks in hand. When he is not busy at the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children at the lake. He is a member of the Canadian Veterinary Reserve. Dr. Potts is co-owner of Wascana Animal Hospital and shares his home with two cats and a dog!  Dr. Potts received the SVMA's Mentorship/Leadership Award in 2021 as he is passionate about mentoring and teaching students & new graduates in the veterinary profession!

    Dr. Andrea Ulmer
    Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA), DVM

    Dr. Ulmer was raised on a mixed farm outside of Young, SK. Animals have always been her passion and at 5 yrs of age she knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian! She spent as many hours as possible in the barn and corrals growing up and was thrilled when she was accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with Distinction in 2007 and received the Read Award in Anesthesiology. Dr. Ulmer then went into mixed animal practice for four years in Alberta. She later moved back to Saskatchewan to be closer to family. Dr. Ulmer joined the Wascana Animal Hospital team and became co-owner of the practice in October 2015. Her areas of interest are soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and alternative veterinary therapies (herbal, acupuncture and therapeutic laser). She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, and one of few veterinarians in Regina practising Integrative Medicine. She combines conventional (Western) medicine with the use of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, when appropriate, to support a patient’s health to the fullest extent. She is currently a member of the Canadian Veterinary Reserve, a national membership of veterinarians available to rapidly assist governments in responding to outbreaks of foreign animal disease and other large-scale emergencies and disasters that affect animals. She enjoys spending time at the lake and on the family farm. When she is not busy with veterinary work, she is spending time with her husband and two children, being 'Dr. Mom'. Her interests include reading, running, hiking, kayaking and scrapbooking. She shares her home with her cats Steven and Tiger Mjolnir, as well as her Dalmatian Pepper!

  • Jane-Stewart
    Dr. Jane Stewart, BSc, DVM

    Dr. Stewart knew from a very young age that she was meant to be a veterinarian!  In school she was drawn to biology,  physiology and the study of life, so veterinary medicine was a natural fit! Dr. Stewart grew up on a farm in Manitoba and graduated from Brandon University with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  She then obtained her DVM from WCVM in Saskatoon. After completing veterinary school and an internship, she moved to Regina where she has been practising ever since!  Dr. Stewart is currently enjoying acreage living with her husband and two children. She has a menagerie of critters including dogs, cats, horses, ponies and one mischievous goat!
